Jihwan Park joins the jury of the Wieniawski Violin Making Competition

The Cremona-based maker is the first Korean luthier invited to judge the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Making Competition in Poznań.

Jihwan Park, who has worked from his own workshop in Cremona since 2015, served on the jury of the 15th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Making Competition in Poznań, Poland, in May 2025. He sat alongside Frank Ravatin (chair), Krzysztof Krupa and Antoine Nedelec.

The Wieniawski competition, held every five years since 1957, is among the oldest and most selective violin-making competitions in the world. Park is the first Korean maker to be invited to its jury.

Born in Daejeon in 1982, Park trained at the International Stradivari Violin Making School of Cremona under Massimo Negroni and worked with Sung Hyun Park and Michele Dobner before opening his own atelier.
